L’inno in questione si trova nella tomba
TT139 di Pairy, inciso sullo stipite sinistro di una porta. La scrittura è un graffito ieratico che è stato oggetto di numerosi studi fin dalla sua scoperta. Recentemente, è stato stabilito che il graffito serviva sia come denuncia che come espressione del desiderio di Amon da parte di uno scriba del tempio del dio Pawah (pA-wAh). Dal momento in cui, la preghiera era iscritta sulla porta della camera sepolcrale di Pairy, si ritiene che il culto di Aton istituito da Akhenaton cominciasse a crollare. Tuttavia, era ancora un periodo di persecuzione per i seguaci di Amon, da qui la richiesta dello scrivano Pawah per il ritorno del dio. Anche se l'autore fa riferimento al terzo anno di Ankhkheprure Neferneferuaten, la sua esatta identità è ancora una questione di incertezza tra gli studiosi. Tuttavia, poiché questo graffito risale a un periodo molto più tardo del tempo di Pairy, non rientra nell'ambito di questa tesi. Il testo ieratico è sullo stipite sinistro:
